Joe Tompalski comes from a background of 20 plus years as a general manager in the transload and freight forwarding industries. Joe actually depended on OCTS as a customer! With aligned thinking and the same customer service values, OCTS and Joe joined forces in 2013.
While working in Real Estate & Development, Joe also completed Management Studies through Athabasca University. This education combined with progression into senior roles in the transportation industry provided Joe with the background necessary to support the dynamic OCTS team.
Joe provides the OCTS team with the tools they need to be their very best – he helps people excel and become the first choice of transportation industry customers. Plus, he manages to have some fun along the way!

After finishing school and left home at the age of 16 (when he thought he knew everything) Bill McMahon moved to Edmonton and joined the transportation industry. He gathered experience from multiple transportation companies before working with CP Rail and finally planting roots with OCTS, where Bill has been since 1996.
Bill has been the Operations Manager for OCTS since 2007. Before that he was in dispatch at OCTS for 11 years.

Ria has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants for more than 30 years. After 9 years of experience in audit, tax and accounting, Ria left public practice to pursue a career as a controller.
Ria has always enjoyed working with organizations in roles where she’s challenged to use problem solving and analytical skills. Ria has been with OCTS since 2010 managing the accounting, computer, and administrative needs of the company.

Rob Marsh came to OCTS after being referred by a friend to an ad online. Looking for a challenge in his career, Rob applied and the rest, as they say, is history!
Rob attended the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) to obtain his heavy duty mechanic’s license. Throughout his career he’s worked with fleets, school busses and pneumatics, which helped provide the experience necessary to manage the day-to-day operation of OCTS’s three storage and repair depots. Rob has been with OCTS since July 2000.
“My father was one of the best mechanics I’ve ever encountered and he started training me on rebuilding transmissions when I was 15 years old. This set me on my path to a long and healthy career in the transportation industry.”
Gordon had a business relationship with OCTS’s former general manager before being invited to join the team at a time when the company was looking to progress.
Gordon brings an extensive set of credentials to OCTS. After graduating from Scollard Hall in North Bay,Ontario, he spent two years at Kent State University in Ohio where he played football and hockey.
Gordon joined the transportation industry after university and worked in Hamilton Ontario, Montreal Quebec, Vancouver BC, Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Calgary, Alberta. Gordon brings 45 years experience in flat deck transportation, vans, dry bulk, liquid food grade, and container transportation.

Mike’s career in the Transportation industry began in 1985 in his hometown of Montreal, QC as Vessel Agent in the Marine Operations Department of CAST Container Line at their North American HQ.
Since then, Mike’s career path led him to Vancouver, BC before ultimately settling in Calgary, AB in 1996. Along the way, Mike has gained valuable experience with highly reputable organizations in the ocean steamship carrier, international freight forwarding, and trucking industries – while developing enduring working relationships with colleagues, vendors and clients alike. A devoted family-man, Mike’s passions include football, hockey and golf.
Mike joined the OCTS team in September 2016; his mandate is to maintain and grow our existing customer base in Quebec, Ontario and British Columbia, along with adding new business from the project freight industry in Western Canada.

Senior Manager - Safety, Compliance and Fleet Operators
Dave transitioned into the safety role after spending 26 years in law enforcement in British Columbia. The last ten plus years were spent working in a Safety and Compliance role with two large transportation companies. Originally from Alberta and having grown up in the trucking industry, Safety in transportation was a natural fit. OCTS will continue to enhance safety practices and risk management to ensure the requirements of our customers, employees and motoring public are met.
